Two performances of Gold E. Locks on Trial at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, 500 Indiana Avenue, NW, Washington, DC on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. The performances will be held in Courtroom 117.

Gold E. Locks on Trial is a mock trial designed to introduce pre-school children through primary grades to the legal system. Gold E. Locks is on trial for “bad manners” and the jury will decide if she committed the bad acts of entering the Bears’ home without permission, eating porridge, breaking a rocking chair and sleeping in Babe E. Bear’s bed. After the trial and introduction of all the evidence, the jury of children will decide if Gold E. Locks is guilty of “bad manners.”

A photo exhibit by reknowned photographer Jesse Berry can be viewed in THEARC Gallery, June 26 through July 8, 2008. Gallery hours are 9:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m. -M - F  Call THEARC for weekend hours.

For the “Athletes as Artists” series, Jesse F. Berry has attempted to capture multi-talented athletes as they engage in artistic pursuits and artists engaging in various forms of athleticism. Writers, painters, musicians, and even photographers are frequently found displaying their athletic prowess on golf links, tennis courts, football fields, baseball diamonds and other venues far removed from their artistic studios.As a Photo Artist he has a passion for, and years of practice photographing unique domestic and international landscapes. The recently formed Photo Arts Division of JB Enterprises focuses on capturing the unique beauty found in the great outdoors. Jesse has photographed the centuries old Sphinx and pyramids in Egypt, the snowy caps of the Rocky Mountains and the grandeur of the Grand Canyon. He has photographed the wilds of Africa’s Masai Mara including a lion commanding his pride, dancing pink flamingoes in the Ngorongoro Caldera, and snapped away as a cheetah chased and captured a Thompson gazelle then called her babies to feast on the remains.Closer to home, he has captured the scenic wonders of kayakers challenging the rapids on the Potomac River in the summer and the autumnal foliage in thefall. His Nikon D70 has captured soft clouds of cherry blossoms around the tidal basin and the floral beauty of water lilies at the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens inWashington, DC.

A special reception-by invitation only-for the Sponsors of Wimbledon on the Anacostia 2008 and a fundraiser in support of the Wimbledon on the Anacostia program. This annual event will be held at THEARC, June 26, 2008, from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

  ElderSpeak—The REMIX—We children of the ‘60s are taking it back to the day when we were in the day.   We are going to give a fabulous Show and Tell.  We are coming out on September 18 at THEARC, so hold that date!  We’ll be dancing and singing and storytelling and a lot more.
